About this event

In this informative Q&A style-session, Meredith Scott, CEO for Opportunity International Australia, will share her career journey from a Big 4 accounting firm to leading a not-for-profit organisation, the lessons she learnt along the way and how she had to adapt and grow her leadership style to suit different stakeholders and teams.

About Meredith Scott

Meredith commenced as Chief Executive Officer of Opportunity International Australia in April 2018, following a 32 year career at Ernst & Young.

Her practice at Ernst & Young focussed on the technology, entertainment, government and not-for-profit industries and included 19 years as an audit partner and roles in the partnership governing bodies in Australia, Asia Pacific and at the global level.

She is a director of Opportunity’s Indian subsidiary, Dia Vikas Capital as well as the Deputy Chairman, Chair of the Finance and Audit Committees, and member of the Governance Committees of both Pymble Ladies’ College and Wesley Community Services Limited (the legal entity trading as Wesley Mission).

Meredith is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and holds an Honorary Fellow of Senate from Sydney University following ten years of serving on its Finance and Audit Committee.

Hosted by Vicky Lazarus and Sarah Ottley

Vicky joined Moir Group in February 2014 as a Senior Consultant in the Temporary/Contracting team. She then joined the Not-for-Profit division of Moir Group to further develop relationships in this sector and recruit permanent roles. Vicky looks after all levels of Finance and Accounting roles within these sectors across NSW.

Vicky is a Registered Psychologist and combines her experience in counselling with over 15 years’ experience recruiting across a variety of disciplines and industries. She is passionate about recruitment, as well as helping build our candidates’ careers and sense of self-worth.

Sarah has over 12 years’ experience working as a recruitment consultant, predominantly within the Finance and Accounting Sector in the UK and in Australia and has a strong general knowledge of most areas of finance.

Starting her consulting career recruiting into the Corporate Tax Sector in the UK, she moved to Australia and continued her career in finance recruitment.

She has a passion for helping people to find their perfect role and will go to great lengths to ensure that there is always a great cultural match with the organisations.

Working within the Not-For-Profit Division, Sarah focuses on permanent recruitment of all levels. Having worked closely with the Education/charity sector for several years, she loves being able to work with organisations that are so passionate about their purpose.
